We are proud to announce the Hometown Hero Banners for Honeoye Falls, Lima and Mendon NY. Current "active service" (EX: Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard) members of the U.S. Military who have graduated from Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District or whose families reside in Honeoye Falls, Lima or Mendon are eligible to have their Name, Branch of Service and Photo displayed on a Banner. The Banners are displayed in Honeoye Falls, Lima and Mendon NY approximately from Memorial Day through Veterans Day of each year. Families of said members will not be charged for the Hometown Hero Banner and will, if desired upon notification of completion of Military Service, receive the banner of their loved one as a gift from this privately operated community program. The Hometown Hero Banners program is organized by "All Volunteers" and is "Not affiliated with the respective Village or Towns". We do have an agreement with the aforementioned Villages and Towns to Display "Our Banners" on the Private Utility poles, with display and location subject to the discretion of their DPW. The Banners are the property of Hometown Hero Banners and remain such until the time they are presented, to the Applicant or Applicant's Family.

Hometown Hero Banners is a "Donation" based program, any monetary donations are appreciated in keeping the program in our community's active. Donations can be made with the "Donate" button on the left side of this web page or by check/money order payable to "Home Town Hero Banners", PO BOX 69, Honeoye Falls NY, 14472. The donations are used to purchase the Banners only. In order to have a banner made you will need to fill out our application available on line by clicking here. Paper applications are available at the Town of Mendon in the front Lobby. Electronic application and photo are preferred.

When submitting your photograph (EX: Graduation from Basic Training, in Uniform) please pay close attention to the required size; incorrect size will only delay the application process. All photographs, if not electronic version, are returned after being scanned for banner production. Photograph must be a minimum 4"x6" up to 8"x10" - for larger than 8"x10" photos please contact us. Digital copy accepted Minimum size 1.6Mb; max size 2.6Mb - e-mail. CD/DVD (Windows format) accepted 1.6Mb file or larger - will be returned

Accomplishments

Hometown Hero Banners first displayed on November 12, 2012.
Hometown Hero Banners assisted the communities of Avon, Dansville, Rush and Middlesex NY, in creating similar programs.
